Six times orange

Put mildly, orange is not exactly my favourite colour. Once upon a time, when the internet was young, I even initiated the "Orange club", a website dedicated to loathing oranges and everything that shared the same colour. Every once in a while an orange lover would accidentally join and be hugely disappointed.

So you can see that I truly love you guys, because I decided to endure the pain and stomach finding six suitable pictures for this month's issue of 6 on 6 gamer style!

Six times orange

1) Voss

SWTOR: Despite my detest for said colour, I cannot deny that Voss is one of the prettiest-looking planets out there. This picture was taken as part of my SWTOR aerial photography project.

2) Kayleen Hawkins

Guild Wars 2: Conrad's main character in Guild Wars 2, elementalist Kayleen Hawkins, is pretty crazy about a certain colour, as you can see in the picture. I must (grudgingly) admit that it looks good on her and I consider the above screenie to be among the best character shots I made in the game.

3) Major Hailey

SWTOR: Another one of CONRAD's characters (noticing a trend here?) with a love for orange. Major Hailey is doing some ground training on Ord Mantell and I'm pretending to be a visiting war journalist taking pictures. I love the Republic vanilla armour for trooper characters and would totally wear this one if it wasn't so... orange.

4) Seed protagonist

Botanicula: It's been a while since I completed the game, but Botanicula still ranks among my favourite games ever. Yes, even though its protagonist is an orange seed!

5) Ravenwyn's New Year's outfit

LOTRO: Behold, my only character with an orange outfit. The chest piece is one of those easily-overlooked random world drops, which I tend to collect for creating unique-looking outfits. Then the pants and the awesome fireworks horse fitted perfectly (there's fireworks randomly detonating from it's saddle, how cool is that!) and I could no longer ignore the signs - an outfit was born.

6) Ashara

SWTOR: Ashara, the inquisitor's companion, is one of my favourite companions in Star Wars: the Old Republic. What can I say, I'm a sucker for cute companions! I do feel there's a lot of missed potential in her character, though, because there's not much progression. Ashara more or less keeps being the same, regardless of how the player's character acts. I enjoy the character development of Jaesa Williams, the sith warrior companion, a lot more in that regard. Ashara is also notoriously hard to gain affection with for female player characters (and guess what gender all my characters are...). Needless to say, in my opinion Ashara needs a bit more love!

"6 on 6" is a series of 6 screenshots on the 6th of each month, themed on colour: August: blue - September: purple - October: orange - November: gold - December: red - January: white - February: black - March: pink - April: silver - May: green - June: brown - July: yellow.

    1. Aww, thanks. Maybe you should; for Star Wars fans it's an absolutely amazing game. Starting playing an MMO if you haven't before (or have you?) can be overwhelming, but it's also wonderful. If there's anything can do to help, let me know!

  3. Beautiful screenshots! I've never met someone who hated the color orange aside from my sister, so she'll be glad to know I found a kindred spirit for her:P Botonicula looks gorgeous, I'll have to check it out!

    1. Thank you! I also love the look of Botanicula so much! The gameplay style is very different than what you're used to as well, and I loved it. I think it's something you'd enjoy as well!

    1. Sorry to have brought this upon you. *orange-hater high five*

And I couldn't really justify a 100% Orange Juice screenshot considering my screenshot standards, but here you go!

  6. These are great. I agree too much orange can be too much. But sometimes—like at sunrise and in the autumn—it's gorgeous.

    1. I do appreciate autumn and sunrise orange - Voss is actually my favourite SWTOR planet if you'll believe it (I know, I'm a walking hypocrite). My quarrel is with traffic cone orange, if you know what I mean.

  7. Being Dutch, Orange is my national color. So I love it... JUST because of that btw, colorwise .. orange is no color, hahaa. I once painted my whole daily outfit orange. That was during the World Championship Football. Pic: http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n295/kreeziekeesie/LotRo/Rae%20Orange.png
    (enlarged, so no good quality)

    1. Haha, well, I'm Dutch, too, but that didn't stop me! You can imagine what my least favourite day of the year is... ;)

Love the outfit, though. Orange of the more forgivable sort (autumn rather than cone) and pretty cool to do that just for the occasion. :) Did anyone notice?

    2. Hahaa.. I think I know the day ;)

And tnx, Normally I dye all my outfits black, but, for special occasions I do crazy sometimes. And yep, they noticed, always wear black, and then orange for a month.. they noticed :)

Tnx for putting the pic on, I didn't succeed in doing that... (tried with [img])
